It has been too long
Too long since I was able to identify feelings
Too long since I could fully explain thoughts
Too long since I knew myself
And I am
Forever Lost

Yeah, not that great, not that long... and yet speaks volumes...

Welcome!

Hello there, and welcome to my blog.

It's possible you will find it interesting.It's possible you will feel it is a great waste of internet space.That's alright. The reason I started this blog was to give myself a place where I could be open and honest... a place where I could write about things that I am interested in, things that concern, me with a certain amount of anonymity.

So, what interests me?I love American Sign Language... you might see a post or two about that.But what I really want to talk about here are issues concerning mental illness, specifically depression and self injury (also known as self harm -and a few other things you will never see me use- and abbreviated as SI or SH). You see, I've lived with depression for much of my life (from about age 13 or so to present) and I've SId for about four years. I want to be able to talk about my experience in these areas, what's going on for me... and I want to be able to talk about awareness of these things, and about erasing the stigma that comes along with all kinds of mental illness. I graduated with a BA in psychology so it's things like this that interest me the most (that, and as stated above ASL)... the fact that I live with a mental illness and deal with the stigma that goes along with it... that I feel the stigma attached to my SI on a daily basis (it is getting so warm now I have thought more than once recently that it is 'too hot to be a cutter') make me even more adamant about getting my 'two cents' out there.

I will try to not be really graphic here. I won't describe my SI, how I did it, what it looks like. However, should any discussion of such things trigger you, please, be careful what you read here.

So that's it.
